FAQ

Questions about the estimate

Is this an appraisal?

No. An appraisal is a separate opinion of value prepared under appraisal standards. The figure on this site is an automated estimate and can be wrong.

Is this a loan offer?

No. TappableHome does not lend, and an estimate is not a commitment that any lender will extend credit.

Do I have to share contact details to see the estimate?

No. The address is enough to request the estimate. The contact form comes after the figures, and you can ignore it.

Will you pull my credit?

No. If you choose a credit range, it is self-reported. It does not change the estimate.

What does the 80% and 90% illustration mean?

It is the estimated value multiplied by 80% or 90%, minus the estimated open loan balance. People sometimes use those combined loan-to-value levels when talking about borrowing against a home. Here the result is only an illustration of that arithmetic. It is not an offer and it is not a limit set for you.

Why is there an original loan amount and a separate open balance?

The open balance is an estimate of what recorded mortgages still have outstanding. The original amount is what was recorded when a mortgage was made. They are different numbers. The original amount is labeled as the recorded original amount.

Why does the page say partner matching is not available?

Matching is turned off for some states. At launch those states are Connecticut and New York. You will see the sentence “Partner matching is not yet available in your state.” A lead for those addresses is not saved.

Who can contact me if I consent?

TappableHome and the mortgage brokers and non-affiliated lenders named on the Marketing Partners page. That list is empty until partners are added. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can see an estimate without checking the box.

What if I am just curious?

Choose “Just curious.” That path is an email opt-in only. It is stored separately and is not submitted as a broker or lender lead.

The numbers are marked Example. What does that mean?

Example means the site is running on demonstration figures, not a live property-data lookup. Those figures are the same for every address and are not that home’s value. They are labeled Example on the page.

Who operates this site?

The legal entity and mailing address are on the About page and in the footer. Questions can go to support@tappablehome.com.
